Experimental Learning in Digital Communication: Florence, Italy

I was fortunate to take the opportunity to study abroad in Florence, Italy during the spring semester of my junior year. There I took classes that pushed me out of my comfort zone and beyond what I know from my classes at home. The Experimental Learning in Digital Communication course was designed to feel like an internship, where I met once a week with a supervisor and did any work on my own. Throughout the course, I completed 9 “Student Spotlights,” 9 social media posts for the Florence University of the Arts Instagram, and 3 web articles for their website. This course allowed me to explore the hidden beauties of Florence, understand more of its history, and befriend locals. I also learned the ins and outs of social media and web writing for this university in a different country than my own which definitely broadened my appreciation of media.
